Ate well with my 5 year old. We shared La Tuna, a side of fries & the Tomato Basil soup. The service was attentive, not overbearing. La Tuna as a sandwich is a perfectly seared tuna steak with hard boiled eggs, tomatoes & avocado. The fries satisfied my son. The Tomato Basil soup was enjoyed as well. Even though we came on a Sunday, it's likely this place is packed for breakfast & lunch due to the quality & location. We will definitely come back.

This is an awesome little sandwich shop! The sandwiches are so delicious! Very fresh and great flavors! Unique! I love everything Ive tried so far. The pollo is awesome as well as the cuban and the burgers! The soups are also really good. Try it! You wont be dissapointed!

I went here for lunch today during a summit on girls' education at MOCA. It was one of the best meals I've had since moving to Miami. I had the half soup/half sandwich lunch combo for $6.96. The ginger carrot soup was DELICIOUS. They let me sample it before committing, which I love. My sandwich was the vegetarian - lots of grilled veggies with whipped goat cheese. SO yum. And the portions were not small. Nice people, too!

Went with my mom for lunch one day last week. It was, just as I expected, amazing. we just had soup and sandwiches. Very tasty and the servers were sweet! This is the stuff that is missing in most other places. Kudos!, Sin.

Fantastic gourmet sandwiches at very reasonable prices. I tried the milano sandwich today and it was head and shoulders above the competition. It was absolutely delicious and very well prepared.

Yum. My new favorite lunch spot. Soup and sandwich special $6.50 was plenty for lunch. The bread is delicious. The soup is unusual and tasty. I can't wait to go in the evening for a $21 bottle of wine and a try one of the Wine Pairing Items on the menu. The service is great. The outdoor seating is very comfortable. There is a parking lot in the back. This place is great for a delicious casual meal..

If I could have given 6 stars I would have. Fresh baked real French Baguette got me in the door. The chef is French trained. And his sandwich creations show it, there gourmet sandwiches are topped with aioli's and real fresh tasting ingredients. Staff is very helpful and it has a nice out door eating area. The prices are the same as the Panera and it buts that bread company to shame. If you are in the area for lunch or dinner this place is a must try, do not miss this locally owned and run gem of north Miami.

Dear sweet baby Je... I mean... Cane a Sucre. It's been a while, I missed you & thought I'd never get to taste your prosciutto basil mozarella baguettes again. I was ecstatic to see you simply moved to another location, & will soon be stopping in for one of your organic burgers. I must take one star away though as a silent moment for the baby creme brulee pies, what happened!!! Bring em back please!!!!!

Sandwiches which are head and shoulders above other sandwiches. Did you see the sign, motherf*cker? It says "Gourmet Sandwiches". But seriously, it really is gourmet sandwiches and not just a sign that says gourmet sandwiches and you come in and get some crappy sandwich that you have to settle for. These are really gourmet sandwiches. The good sh*t. Everything is fresh and tastes noticeably better.

Great food. We were very happy, but...Everything comes with plastic. the dishes are washable, but the silverware and napkins are all disposable. Also they don't have fountain drinks or iced tea, more garbage. Other than that, the food is terrific!

This place is absolutely amazing. I always pass by this place and comment on how cute it is. So I finally tried it out the other day, and I'm glad I did. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Great quality food for a low price. I will definitely suggest this place to friends as well as frequent it for lunch.

It's great to have a new spot in North Miami where you can have a tasty soup, sandwich, or salad. The lunch special is excellent and a great deal at that! Fast, friendly service, nice outdoor seating area. Food always comes out fresh, hot, and quickly. Great prices as well! Keep up the good work guys! Thanks!

Met a girlfriend for lunch on a very busy Friday lunchtime, having driven past a few weeks before it looked like it had a cool atmosphere. We were not disappointed, what's the saying "great things come in small packages" - that sums this venue up. Busy, bustling but friendly efficient and most importantly fresh fantastic food. I had 1/2 vegetarian sandwich and 1/2 soup of the day - and they both were delicious. The servers were great and even though they can't have much room for manouvering they managed to serve us without delay. Location is interesting and I am sure this area is up and coming - I hope so because I live there!! Sat streetside so it was a bit noisy but still comfortable tables and chairs. I can't wait to go back and have told others about it too. Roll on next Friday lunch

This restaurant is a breath of fresh air in North Miami. Though the space is small, these owners have done what none of the several restaurants who've previously occupied the space did, they have created a great ambiance! The food is fresh and who would have thought sitting al fresco in North Miami could be so divine. I had passed this restaurant several times before deciding to stop in. What a delight! I thoroughly enjoyed the cobb salad and told the chef it was the best cobb salad I have ever had. This place is a treasure and great place for breakfast or lunch. It is well worth the drive to have a great meal with friendly staff and a laid back environment. Since going that first time last month, I have been back 4 times and have told all my friends about it. This is my first restaurant review, enough said!

AMAZING! Can't believe they are back, remember the brothers when they were on 36th Street. Great food, reasonable rates, wish them well! Food was outstanding, but I am not at all surprised, theses guys are good, very good! Been there three times, Soup once Pumpkin, cool day, fantastic. Tuna sandwich was delicious, and the salad was enormous. Inexpensive Gourmet Food! Highly recommend a tasting.

Great place for a quick healthy sandwich or salad lunch. Venue space is restricted because of the small building, but outside covered seating with waiting service is available. Parking is also limited. Beware of the servers, we believe they are good hearted and nice, however, there is an obvious learning curve for proper food handling. That is the sugar-coated version that the servers do not know proper food handling and sanitary issues to date. The facility is very new, clean, and well maintained. Desserts are wonderful too! The menu language use is a mess or a poor attempt to excuse the above average sandwich pricing. But using French, Italian, Spanish, and English word(s) all over the menu is just a disaster...including the company name. (but then again the name Panera is dumb too!). Aside from the overuse of foreign words, the sandwich/salad shop is pretty good. My one star rating stands for now only because the servers are doing things that can make patrons physically ill. That is sad, because it is evident that the owner has really made a commitment at this sandwich/salad joint both in time and money only to be spoiled by server(s) food handling ignorance. Are the servers related to the owner?

My business partner and I stumbled upon an old friend we knew from their Design District days in the early 2000s while lost in the culinary nothingness of a neighborhood we don't often frequent. Their soup of the day was a great cream of mushroom, which we both chose to accompany our half sandwich selection. She had the Milano and said it was great, while I had the Gorgonzola and Fig and it was divine. The bread makes all the difference, but if it had been stuffed with subpar ingredients, it would have fallen flat. We are both Italian and know what "real" prosciutto and gorgonzola look and taste like, and believe me, this stuff was authentic. Great compliments to the staff as well; very friendly, fast, helpful and subtly anticipative of what we might need next. Rarely do you see a restaurant that seems over-staffed. The contrary is usually the reality. Don't know when I'll be back in that neighborhood, but if I am, it will be my go-to lunch place.

I really enjoy this little hidden gem. They have a delightful selection of salads and sandwiches plus different soups each day (I think). The staff is very friendly and prompt. You order your food at the counter and, if you're staying, you go find your table. The outdoor area is covered and even has fans for those hot days. The last time I went, I had a fig and blue cheese sandwich. Delicious! It was sweet, which can be odd for a sandwich, but I'd definitely get it again. It's about a 20-minute drive from work, but I still go there regularly for lunch. A cute little break.

Love this joint, it's kind of quaint and chill, great lunch spot. Good was good, had La Pollo and El Cobb salad with and iced cappuccino, wifey had the same with an iced latte. The outdoor seating is a definite, you'd think it would be all hot and crap and junk and stuff but it isn't, the fan and mist thing they have going on WORKS. Will definitely hit this place up again soon, goal is to try everything on the menu. The service was simple, the register people were cool, the guy (didn't catch his name, but he's a gingerhead man) is very helpful and knowledgeable on the menu items.

Pretty Damn Good! Driven by this place dozens of time; they always caught my eye but I never stopped in. Finally checked it out with a co-worker and I'm glad we did. We each had the lunch special. Half a sandwich and soup of the day with a tiny serving of house salad.. The soup of the day was roasted red pepper which didn't sound that great but when they offered and i tried the sample I was sold! Sandwich was pretty filling for just a half.. seemed more like 3/4 cut in two but I'm not complaining. It was the club and it was yummy. Only downfall is that its super hot because of all the windows but luckily we sat next to the AC so it was comfortable. Loved how they kept the cups of water chilled in the freezer :) nice touch for a hot summers day!

This lunch spot really hits the spot when in the area. The delectable sandwiches are all made to order and definitely is nicely put together and thought out. Each item in the sandwich perfectly balances out each other in taste, not too overly salty ingredients all jammed up together, rather than a sandwich with things that compliment one and another. The baguette is by far my favorite. This crunchy roll is how it suppose to be...hard on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside. Truly a baguette... The soups are delicious. There is always a daily soup selection and it definitely goes well paired with a sandwich or baguette. When on the run, make sure you order by phone and pick up. It definitely is much quicker because during the lunch rush, this place can be packed and tight!

I have driven occasionally through and the corner spot has caught my eye. Finally had a chance to try it last week and I can't wait to come back again for more. The Paninis are great, with a wide selection! The freshly made fries are just as good. Hot and fresh, crispy and tasty! My only disappointment was that I had to scavenger my car for $0.50 because I wanted to try an aioli with the fries. Being 90* out on a sunny day this was completely unnecessary. I LOATHE being nickle and dimed. If the business owner needs to charge to cover the overhead for the sauces, I understand BUT just simply add the Charge into the price of the fries, but don't add a surcharge for sauce. All in all, I knocked out a star for this unnecessary frustration when all I wanted was a smooth and relaxing lunch.

Great selection of soups, sandwiches & breakfast items, Super friendly staff. Seating/space is very limited inside but they sidewalk & covered patio seating outside. 'Le Pollo' sandwich was ridiculously good and not at all pricey. Check their menu online & order ahead as it gets very busy during lunch hours.

Really nice!!!!!! I always have driven by this place and wondered how it was. Today we decided to give it a try. It was awesome I would have given it a 5 star but I was melting inside, the ac was not the best, other than that amazing! Great burger amazing soup. I will suggest fresh brew ice eat and other wine selection but very nice for a casual French spot.

The service here left a lot to be desired. Came here for breakfast and they had been opened for over an hour yet they were still setting up and readying the place for business. Would have like to sit on the patio but it was covered in water due to their cleaning. The outside seating in front of the restaurant was were we decided to sit after I had to ask one of the workers to remove the windex bottle from the table. The service was so slow we had to go back inside to see if they even remembered our order and the kicker was, we were the only people there eating in (there were a few people I saw picking up their takeout orders) but they were in no means slammed with people. When our food was brought out there were no apologizes and I had to remind them about our drink orders which came out after the food but they had forgotten about it. The reasons I did not rate this place lower was that they were willing to customize my breakfast sandwich and gave recommendations. The ingredients were fresh and I also liked how they gave a decent size expresso based drinks. I may try this establishment again for takeout and definitely call in my order because I do believe in second chances.

The food is over all good. But today I had a bad experience. The cashier, was rude. She usually has a snappy attitude. Today she basically slammed my change on the counter and tossed my food at me . Without saying thank you or anything. So I spoke up and she then apologized. What happened to customer service and treating each Guest with their deserved respect? I left with a bad taste in my mouth.Don't know if I will come back. And that's unfortunate because I enjoy the food. The red hair manager tried to make a lame excuse for her. But there is no excuse for what she did. Especially when I handed her the bill in her hand -Danie

Their sandwiches on fresh French baguette rolls are fire. The size isn't huge but the fresh ingredients offer a flavor that your average sub shop can't touch. I've had the chicken w/ smoked gouda and the imported chorizo w/ goat cheese - both were unstoppable!

The "Le Pollo" sandwich is super delicious! I come here every single time and the service is great! I recently changed my diet and no longer eat meat, there are a few vegetarian options for sandwiches, but I didn't like none of them! The daily soups on the other hand, are super delicious! I only come for the soups now!

I can't say enough wonderful things about this restaurant. The food and the service has yet to disappoint me. My personal favorites include: The Le Pollo sandwich, the Grilled Chicken Cobb salad and the Le Cajun salad, (which I have made as a salad). Truthfully, everything I've ever eaten here, I have enjoyed tremendously.

  • Katherine D.

Fresh and delicious. I ordered the El Milano hot sandwich which had prosciutto, pesto, mixed greens, fresh mozzarella, and tomatoes on a baguette. I loved it. In hindsight I should have gotten soup or something with it because I was hungry after the sandwich, but it was really good. It's hard to get really good mozzarella at a restaurant but they will not disappoint you here. They have outdoor seating which is great on a nice day, but it's also small inside and gets crowded easily.

Excellent service, reasonable prices for absolutely delicious food. Without Cane a Sucre, I would not have survived our move to North Miami from Coral Gables...seriously. Everything I've tasted as been worth coming back for-- soups, super fresh salad greens and toppings, real dressings...I don't even like ranch, but their homemade buttermilk ranch that comes with the Cobb salad is light and creamy, and then they throw in good pesto too, the baguette sandwiches--I thought the Club was good, I love the Le Pollo, and then I tried the Cuban...O M G ...I had to close my eyes--it was melt in your mouth good, better than any traditional Cuban you'll get. Did I mention the burgers? Fabulous. Comes with the best mayo I've ever tasted. Even the fries, which are your basic frozen seasoned kind, always come out hot, crispy and in a massive pile. Yes, we tried breakfast-- bacon egg scrambles on croissants to go-- hard not to come here every day. They've got "it," and as long as they do, we'll be eating here at least once a week.

Found this place through yelps reviews, saw they had reviews so I thought I'd give them a try since I was in the area. I ordered the pumpkin soup which is AMAZING!! And the Le Pollo sandwich which they do in half as well. Good food and cute little place. The only thing is that I read they had Wifi and they didn't :/ but other than that no complains. Definitely recommend this little spot.

This is a good place for breakfast, brunch and lunch. I came in for lunch an ordered one of their hot 6-inch (half) baguettes-Le Pollo: grilled chicken breast, topped with caramelized onions, smoked Gouda cheese an roasted tomato aioli, served on a French baguette. When the food arrived I was shocked at the size of my baguette. It looked like four inches instead of six inches. I expected to hold the baguette with both hands instead of my index finger and thumb. I was so hungry and staring at two inches of food, almost made cry. I had to approach my server and let them know how I felt. They explained to me if I wanted a bigger baguette I would have to order the full size. The full size obviously costed me twice as much and I assumed would be the size of a 6-inch when it really should be a 12-inch. I didn't push for anything more since the server made it seem I was stuck with this snack not a lunch. I decided I lost the-customer-is-always-right-battle and took my small baguette, to my little corner, and ate. As soon as I took my first bite, I fell in love. The flavor of the bread immediately took over me. I love the taste of the caramelized onion an the chicken. It was delicious. My server seemed to have seen that I was enjoying what I settled for and provided me a complimentary hearty and tasty "small" house green salad -(thank you Jesus). I couldn't help but to be thankful. I really wish the baguette could have been bigger for the price of a half size. I jut didn't want my lunch to end. I guess they are right, good things do come in small packages!

This place offers a French & Cuban inspired food... If you want to have gourmet sandwiches this is the spot to go. I always order my fave, El Marinero sandwich on wheat baguette. It comes with tuna, eggs, lettuce and tomatoes. Besides their fresh and yummy sandwiches you must try their delicious soup of the day! So far, my faves are the Lentil or the Carrot & Ginger Soup. They have salads and burgers too. It's a small but cozy place with a great staff. They have both a small seating area inside and a cute little patio towards the side. You can either parallel park in front of the street or in the private parking lot towards the back. Although this place is a little pricey, I don't find it's worth paying so much for one of their salads but their sandwiches and soups are worth the little extra. Don't forget to try their baked goods; their Chocolate Chip Cookie and Chocolate Croissant is a nice treat. I am eager to try their breakfast one of these days.

I am so glad I FINALLY got here. I have been meaning to go for a long time. It is a great little place in the center of North Miami (free parking around back). I loved the outdoor seating, even though it was a very hot day. They have fans blowing and it was quite pleasant out there. You order at a counter inside and they bring the food to your table. All the people working there are super nice. I ordered a Le Fig (Gorgonzola cheese, fig confit, fresh oregano, crispy walnut and drizzle of honey, served on French baquette) sandwich. I don't care for Gorgonzola, so I substituted with Swiss - that was no problem at all for them. The sandwich was DELICIOUS. My friend had the Le Vegetarian and said it, too, was delicious. Both sandwiches were served hot. We also shared a vat of very good French fries. My friend also had an Espresso and said it was very good. Prices were very reasonable and the place is clean. I like that you can order only half a sandwich and it's half the price - that's nice for someone who doesn't have a big appetite. The half was plenty. It was a great dining experience and I will definitely be back.

First of all let me say that I've been a huge fan of Cane A Sucre since the early 2000's when they were located by the area that's now called midtown. It was very close to our place of work and we would always go as a group or order delivery. It was such a wonderful surprise to visit their current north miami location so many years later to find that the taste is still exactly the same! Even the menu remains very similar to what I remember (except by two of my old time favorites the Español and the Pate and Cornichons). Even the famous balsamic vinaigrette tastes exactly the same as it did back in the day. One option that I see as new and I think is great is the half size sandwich option and since I couldn't pick just one I ended up having half of the Le Pollo and half of the Le Milano, both equally delicious! They have a couple of wine and beer selections as well as their great baked goods, amazing salads and soups. My only request would be that they bring back El Español sandwich (chorizo, goat cheese and roasted peppers) because although we saw it on their facebook as "El cantimpalo sándwich is back" when we asked for it, we were told that the only thing they had with chorizo was a burger, so which is it? Other than that, everything else was amazing!

Back from '12, I've been on a Vegan spree since my days of free-range chicken. I came back to Sucre without memory of the menu. Le Vegetarian without cheese, this sandwich is a keeper. If you're Vegan, order this sandwich, you'll thank me later. [FYI, only wished they had Vegan options]

This place is a gem in a blah neighborhood! I went in today and had their lunch special, a sandwich (le pollo) and cup of soup (cream of mushroom) both were outta this world! They have a cute little patio and parking so they scored points there too! I can't wait to return!

At the behest of the beautiful Katrina G. I was advised to patronize this restaurant. Katrina G. did not elaborate about this place she just told me it is a gem. Once I ordered, I was given a number and and my food was brought out to my table. The wood roofed outdoor dining area is super clean and has a comely appearance. I was surprised that the outdoor table tops were made of marble, each table was also "professionally" fixated with napkins and condiments sauces. What I ordered : - La Tuna with $11.00 bit.ly/WpMYtc - Seasoned Fries $3.50 bit.ly/YQ1IG1 - Coke $2.00 Positives : - They have drinks and sodas( Coke, Sprite, Fanta etc) made with sugar and not high fructose corn syrup. - Creative menu. - Chicken is free range and hormone free! - Beef is 100% organic. - They have vegetarian options. - Parking on premises. - Nice outdoor eating area. Negatives : - Indoor eating are is very narrow with bar stools and window counters. The tuna in the sandwich was fresh and grilled to perfection, the vine-ripened tomato's were juicy and avocado was rich in taste. The brioche bread was soft with good texture. The seasoned fries were tasty, but not to die for, but they were definitely better than fast food fries. Customer service was friendly and helpful. I was very satisfied with my meal and I definitely plan on returning.

Great food for breakfast and lunch with generous portions. They have an array of sandwiches, that you can order a full size or half size. The first time I had lunch there I order two half sandwiches (so I could try different ones) and it was way more than I needed. I love the outdoor seating area. When I first discovered them I went there religiously for a month, every Saturday for breakfast. My only complaint is that I wish they were open Sundays!

Really busy but super tasty. Café service in a walk-up counter setting with outdoor and indoor seating. Fresh, fast and fancy. We had a fig sandwich, the soup of the day (pureed vegetable soup), and the latin burger. All three were excellent and quickly prepared. Tips: 1. Be prepared for it to be busy during lunch hour. 2. This place used to be some sort of walk-up lunch counter. It's not for groups. 3. The only indoor seating is at the window ledge. 4. Know what you want before you get in line if at all possible. 5. Try the soup of the day.

Amazing food. The menu has a really good combination of classic sandwiches, salads, and soups with some more creative options as well. The staff is incredibly nice, and the ambience is really good. I've had almost everything on their menu and loved it all, so I highly recommend it. The portions are good for a regular meal, and if you're looking for a snack, you can split a sandwich between two or something. A hungry person could eat soup/salad and a sandwich probably no problem. Really great place.

I like this place... and considering that this region of Northern Miami is full of restaurants that serve heavy greasy-set plates, this place hits the spot with light and refreshing meals - that won't leave you hungry on the end even though the portions didn't look very big. The sandwiches are all prepared in the day, and they're definitely tasty. I couldn't resist getting the Milano, but I also liked the Club. Their bread is good that I even use them for dipping into the soup. The soup is also tasty - I've been here three times and I was impressed with the soup twice, usually their bisques and vegetable puree soups (the third time had pasta and mediocre bits of chicken, which I'm not crazy about). You can get both for a great value during lunch - which is what I would recommend you to do. Coffee is made well here as well. All-in-all, I think this is a great spot to relax and play catch-up with a friend. The only negative is much of their seating is outdoors which can be stifling even under the fan during the summer. But come winter, this place is a gem! P.S. Glad to see that they also opened a place in downtown Miami - and with indoor seating to boot!

I absolutly love this place! The Milano Sandwhich is to die for all their soups (I especially love the tomato basil and the ginger carrot) taste fresh and hearty. The only downside is the parking and every now and again they'll get my to-go order wrong but it's worth it. PS I can't remember what the chocolate desert is called but find it and try it!

Amazing!!!!! Love this place, small but cozy. The food was delicious. They have half and full size sandwiches. I had the le pollo (half size) and it was so good. The bread was crunchy and the chicken was perfectly cooked. My sister ordered the le Milano full size and it was good but I suggest you order half size bc the full size isn't a big difference and it is like $3 more. I also had the almond croissant and it was on point!! Definitely coming back next time in in Miami!!

My daughter and I have been wanting to try this place for the longest time. We finally stopped in for lunch on Friday! I ordered the Gorgonzola and walnut baguette sandwich- excellent! She had the ham and Brie cheese baguette sandwich- very tasty. We both ordered full sandwiches and took the other half home. Such a yummy lunch! A nice option besides chain restaurants. We ate outside on the patio. Everyone was pleasant. We will be back!

yum yum yumm. the veggie hot sandwich is to DIE for. I can't say much for the dine in experience as we always take out a huge order for the office but I will def. update if I was to ever eat in. must try

I'm a regular at this location, usually pick up food for my employers and employees. Food options are delicious. We usually pick half a hot baguette plus a soup of the day. My personal favorites are le vegetarian and le pollo. Really friendly environment. The same location has had many different restaurants with no luck in lasting and Cane A Sucre seems to be holding the fort quite well. Definitely a great place to satisfy your needs.

  • JoAnna L.

Cane A Sucre has improved in so many ways, that I am forced to update my review to 5 stars. My daughter and I go about 2-3 times per month. I have had almost everything on their menu-empanadas, sandwiches, soups, burgers....And I have noticed that portions have become a little smaller, however, the quality has improved so much (and mind you before the food was still really good). The soups are thicker (per my request) and the meat in the sandwiches tastes even better. Their lunch special can't be beat. $7 for soup (full bowl), half sandwich, and little salad. I add 2 drinks and a bag of chips and my daughter and I split it and are full afterward. I also love sitting outside. Decor is simple and cute. Staff is always nice.

This place is North Miami's best place when it comes to eating a good hot sandwich. The location is nothing fancy but guarantee to like many things on its menu. The "el cubano" is my favorite hot sub; however, the menu consists of many good hot subs including good burgers. In order to understand its success in North Miami, you have to know that there were so many other restaurants in this location over the years and none of them succeeded except them (Cane a Sucre). One of the downsides is the lack of parking and also it's not a too safe neighborhood to venture on. Nevertheless, it should be part of your list of place to visit. North Miami's Finest.... PS..... "Cane a Sucre" is French for Sugar Cane

After several trips here, I can safely say you can believe all the hype, the food here is really good. It is, however, can get a little pricey when you add in the price of a drink. I usually get half soup & sandwich and a cup of water, which at $6.50+tax is really reasonable especially for the quality. If you love the bread here, you'll be happy to know that you can purchase an entire baguette to take home! Just make sure you eat it within a day or so.

Cream of sweet potato soup! Mmmm The Cuban sandwich was devine. This place tastes so good and priced so well that I went back for lunch the second day I was in town and got the same sandwich. A GEM!

Hands Down the best sandwich shop I've ever been to, we tried 3 different ones and every single one was fantastic

  • Melina P.

I love this place and even more since it's not too far from my house. The soup is the best I've ever had thus far. I enjoyed the fried chicken and onion soup last night with the salmon baguette. Customer service is good. Last night I happened to go 7 minutes before closing and they didn't make me feel like I wasn't welcomed. I'll definitely be going back. Plus the bread is as close as you'll get to real French bread!

I ordered the Cream of Vegetable soup. It was delicious and it came with a piece of bagget. The bread was really good. Tasted fresh. The soup was extremely fresh and made daily. I would go here again!

Tucked into a neighborhood full of aging businesses that may have you wondering why you're coming here, is a hidden gem, a French oasis of sandwiches, soups, and desserts that are as good as you might find in a similar lunch shop in Paris. Yes, you order your food at the counter, American fast food style, and you're given a number, but what arrives is, to put it mildly, exquisite. Breads crusty on the outside, moist and delicious on the inside. The right amount of meats and cheeses and toppings for big taste without that gross over-the-top calorie orgy in which most lunch eateries engage. We tried the tomato basil soup which was fresh tomatoes and a splash of creme with some basil olive oil emlusion drizzled in. Stir it up and wow. Best of all, they out Panera Panera with a soup-salad combination that puts McPs to shame. The place is small and it fills up. Be prepared to eat at one of their very French (compact) counters if tables are all taken, and they can be, because, this is the best eating for miles around, and everyone knows it. All I can say is: When are you building one in Palm Beach County? I want to eat here more often, but the drive is trop cher, mes amis!

I think this place is amazing in every way. The location, and the prices are right. They offer half and regular sized baguette sandwiches (when I say sandwich, think European cafe sandwich not NY deli). Think Fig, Prosciutto, Brie, Arugula, Sundried Tomato etc. (not necessarily all in the same sandwich of course) and the soups are always delectable. The portions are spot on, not too big, not too small and the coffee is pretty good. The parking in the back is convenient and most importantly free. Feel free to street watch on a bar stool inside or enjoy lunch outside under the awning. The staff is always friendly and the food is always served quickly and fresh. Please just go ASAP.

Very good sandwiches (the secret is the bread, always the bread). Fast as well. Nice little patio and plenty of parking in the lot or on the street. I'd go back.

  • Donald T.

Cane A Sucre has now opened a #DWNTWN Miami location, across the street from the east side of the old Dade County courthouse. It has a lot more indoor seating than the North Miami location, and offers the same menu. We had a couple of wonderful cream-filled almond croissants still warm from the oven. They were delicious. If the lunch sandwiches and soups are as good as the other spot, this location should be a hit.

Great lunch spot! Portions are just right and the food feels healthy. It probably isn't but at least it's tasty! Tuna burger is my favorite

The el Pollo is amazing. The have a great location right off 135th street. There was no wait when I went and I was greeted quickly and politely. The food took about 10 minutes and I was quickly in food heaven.

  • Fefika E.

Apart from the hilarious articles on their menu such as "Le" Pollo and "La" Tuna, this place is pretty good. They make a single soup du jour (daily soup) and they were excellent each of the 3 times that I have been to this place (Tomato Basil, Vegetable Medley, Carrot & Ginger). The soups are of the bisque-type served with slices of french baguette. I also had the "El" Milano sandwich which is essentially a Caprese with Pesto and Prosciutto on a french baguette (it was pretty good- not great). My friend had the "El" Cubano sandwich which was according to him- pretty good, not great. I also had the "El" Cobb salad the first time I was there and it was a solid Cobb salad. The service is wonderful, some of the best service I have had in the Miami area. The dining area on the side is pleasant. All in all, I would really rate this place as a 3 & 1/2. It's a solid quick lunch break type of place. The prices are very fair. I HIGHLY recommend the SOUPS (best menu item in my opinion).

  • Eboni A.

In Miami just visiting & found this great place via other Yelp reviews. It was very tasty! I had the le pollo & side of fries but there were many other options I would like to try. The food was light yet filling which was great. The place is nestled on the corner with indoor/outdoor dining options & the staff was very friendly with great customer service. Only criticism is that I wish they had other combo options instead of just the sandwich & soup combo.

Love love love this place. I've tried everything and haven't been let down yet! They have very cozy outdoor seating or you can order ahead and pick up to go. This is my lunch break go to spot

Good little lunch spot that gets the job done. But to give this place 5 or even 4 stars is just too much! Came here with Samantha L. for lunch today, and I left pretty satisfied. The Milano sandwich hit the spot - the baguette was crisp, yet soft. And the pesto sauce was the perfect touch! I was also able to sample a little of the Pumpkin soup (the soup of the day), which was creamy and sweet - no complaints from me! The quiche (also a daily special) was decent - especially the top layer/crust which was cheesy (always a plus!) and flavorful. The one dish I didn't like was the bread pudding. It was a divergence from the usual bread puddings you're used to - this one was not warm or drizzled with sauce or white chocolate shavings. So if you're expecting a traditional bread pudding, this would not be the dish for you. I would never order it again. Overall the food is alright. I'd recommend you come here if you're in the sandwich/soup mood and in the area. But beware: lunch can get a little crowded and busy!

I'm all for supporting local business but three sandwiches cost $45.00. The food was good, but certainly not mind blowing. The seasoned "fries" didn't come out until I was done with the rest of my meal and when they did they were soggy and scolding hot. For the price I was expecting a lot more than I got all around from the taste to the service. I will definitely come back but it won't be a place I frequent regularly.

I had just picked up my truck and wanted to grab a bite to eat, when I noticed this small cafe. I noticed the water vapor blowing on the outside eatery area and a sign that said gourmet sandwiches. I ordered the Chicken Cobb salad and was impressed with the flavorfulness of the chicken along with the rest of the salad. The burgers and looks like something I would like to try in the future. For a gourmet sandwich place, I found the prices reasonable, but worth it.

I really like this place. It is pretty small but the food is really tasty and they offer good customer service. I recommend this place for lunch and to sit and have a good conversation. I always pick this place for my lunch dates with friends. The sandwich portions are smaller than expected so I always go with the larger size.

  • Yuli L.

The food is okay - but it's nothing out of this world. Definitely not a 5 star/go out of one's way establishment. I tried the prosciutto sandwich, which could have used more prosciutto and toppings & the burger which was okay at best.

Stopped by for a quick bite during lunch hour rush and fell in love with this place! The lentil veggie soup was delicious and came with the best baguette I've had in Florida. Best iced latte around, too. The outdoor seating area was very cozy and service top notch. My Parisian friend complained that his Le Parisien didn't come with French ham - "Le Parisien iz a classique", he said, "it must come with good French jambon - pink wiz a little white fat". But you know how French are, complaining is a national sport for them. Everything tasted great to my unrefined American taste buds and I can't wait to go back and try their quiche!

Solid sandwich spot in north Miami. The fact is there baked goods and desserts are good but not the best but there sandwiches and burgers are really some of the best quality sandwiches I have ever had for under 10 bucks. I definitely recommend this lunch spot for some great sandwiches, soups and salads.

  • Anne L.

Amazing HUGE salads and great sandwiches. This is my go to place for lunch! Only con is that they have almost no seating inside and it gets HOT on the patio

  • Jesus R.

I've sampled many things here, and not one has disappointed. The sandwiches are the TRUTH! My goodness, they're good. The owner told me to sample a carrot soup once, and I was a bit hesitant being that I like my carrots raw and cold only. USUALLY. Cue up the autotune..... KABOOYAH KABOOYAH! My taste buds were swimming! The service is excellent. They have the little cool mist for those hot Miami afternoons. The only bad thing is that they don't open on Sundays. Shoot, this place should be 24/7 come to think of it!

What brought me to Cane A Sucre? Yelp!!! What keeps me coming back? Their AMAZING food. First off, thank you Yelp for helping me discover this little gem. I am so happy I found you! I've been to Cane A Sucre three times, twice in one week. I fall more and more in love after each visit. Cane A Sucre is a cute sandwich/café shop with indoor and outdoor seating. I prefer to sit outside; they have several misting fans conveniently located outside which is perfect for keeping cool on a hot, humid day. This isn't your typical restaurant, you first order inside, pay, take a number and sit wherever you'd like. A waiter then brings you your food once it's ready; somewhat like Pei Wei but service is friendly and attentive. In the past I've ordered Le chicken baguette, Le salmon baguette and a tuna steak burger. I usually order their lunch special, which comes with half a baguette and the soup of the day for around 7 bucks. Not only is the food cheap it is also PHENOMENAL. I am totally obsessed with their baguettes and soups. I highly recommend Le Salmon Baguette; the ingredients come together to form a combination of perfection. Smoked salmon, cream cheese, yummm!! Their tuna steak burger (seared not fully cooked) is phenomenal as well. Cane A Sucre makes the best soup; make sure to order their lunch special to try the best of both worlds (soup and sandwich.) GOOOO!!!! Trust me!!!

I came to Cane a Sucre on the suggestion of a friend - and I was really excited. I had high expectations - especially after reading all of the stellar reviews. Walking in, this place seemed to be a well-oiled machine. Upon entering, I was greeted by a smiling gentleman who handed me a menu. I was beckoned to the cash register by another smiling face. She took my order and handed me a number, which would let me know my sandwich was ready. The space inside is very small, and with about five patrons standing around waiting for their sandwiches, the space felt cramped. My number was called, and I was handed my sandwich, which I took to go. With the first bite, I was really impressed - chicken, caramelized onions, tomato aioli and gouda - really yummy stuff. However, on my second bite, I found that my sandwich was cold in the middle. I'm sure if I was still at the restaurant, they would have corrected this misstep - but unfortunately I was halfway to Broward by the time I realized. So yes, the sandwich could have been amazing - but cold it was pretty lackluster. Next time I'll be sure to check my sandwich before driving off.

Wow, I am now in love with this place! I had their "Le Pollo" sandwich and it was bursting with delicious goodness. Everything tasted like it was made fresh. The order of fries was a pretty good size, hot and tasty. The staff were all friendly and inviting. I will definitely be returning.

    (4)
  • Barbara A.

Great little place. That's the only drawback. If it's a pretty day, there is no where to sit since the outdoor area is really small. If it's a hot day, those misters do nothing to help with the heat. The food is fantastic though. Order and the counter, wait at the table. There isn't really service other than order taking.

  • Lori W.

This place is like a cool breeze on a hot summer day. The staff is so friendly and accommodating; I really felt as if I was back in my home town - Dallas! The food is fresh, and comes out lickity-split (When is the last time you used that word?) Fresh fresh fresh to death! yum... Check it out if you are in the hood. The owner is a sweetheart and he told me that they recently opened up for dinner and have $2 Sangrias!!! I'll be there!

This is my favorite restaurant. I have never had a sandwich at such a high caliber. I have tried all of their baguettes and have never been let down. They also have these great soup specials every day of the week which consists of the soup of the day, along with half a baguette, and a small salad. The soups are also very delicious.

It is like Cane a Sucre really gets me. I don't know how, but it does. Baguette sandwiches, soup and pain au chocolate croissants - really?! It's very John Malcovich, it's like their in my brain. I adore it. Super casual, neighborhood feel with fresh and thoughtful foods.Sit outside on the side patio for a perfect outdoor lunch. They have fans, you will not die of heat exhaustion. Today, I had the Cobb salad and it blew me away. It made a statement when it was brought out to our table with the crispest bacon I've had in a long time. And can I get an Amen for ACTUAL bacon, not bacon bits or bacon flavored morsels - real life bacon! The chicken and hard boiled egg were perfectly cooked! Hard to find in Miami. Favorite sandwich: The Milano - served warm with mozzarella, their perfect basil oil and prosciutto - it literally speaks to me and it says "hello... is it me you're looking for?" Must have: Chocolate Croissant - but not all of them! Always leave one for me. Cons: The cheese!!! Such great ingredients but the cheese is sub par. They use "parmesan" not parmigianno in their ceasar salad (dressing is amazing though) and their fresh goat cheese is that super gamey, mass produced stuff you can find in logs at costco. Their gorgonzola and brie are passable but not the best. It is the only thing I would change. All the other ingredients are SO GOOD, I think they should step up their game with the cheese. It just does not pass the "I LOVE CHEESE" test that I make everyone take. Moral of the story - go! go! go! If you appreciate creative combinations and eating like a European go!

What a little gem this place is. Ordered the vegetarian sandwich and it was amazing.

  • Dana D.

I noticed this place because they have misting fans outside to keep people cool in this pan searing hot environment we call Miami. However, like many women, I'm allergic to water. It melts off my painted face and makes my hair look like an ornamental shrub. Misting fans belong in Disney, and this place, and although I hate water, I do like Disney. So I decided to check this joint out and bring an umbrella. When I looked at the menu, it seemed like they had a language identity crisis. I was reading items in French, Spanish, and English. And not all in one language, but a combination of many. For example you can order "Le vegetarian" sandwich. Le not good. Browsing the menu you'll find that you have three options: sandwiches, salads, and one soup of the day. I'm not on a diet so I went for a sandwich. One of the many duties I have as a good woman is making sandwiches. Eating sandwiches (or panini's if you're a highbrow asshole) anywhere other than home isn't really my thing, since no one can make a sandwich better than me. But at this point I've already compromised my hair, so I have no choice but to order el sandwicho at the Disney of sandwiches. This place makes a mighty sandwich. My sandwiches are a 10, and these sandwiches are a 9.5. I still win, but I'm not open for business, and second place is a nice place to be if you're not in first.

  • Michael C.

Why am I giving a small sandwich shop on 125th Street a five star review? Because Cane A Sucre is excellent at what they do and is one of those places that exceeds your expectations. Many of the sandwiches are delicious combinations that you probably haven't seen before, and the ones that you have seen are prepared lovingly. They serve the sandwiches on one of the best baguettes in South Florida and with a nice side salad for less than 8 bucks. Two people would be hard pressed to spend more than 20 bucks here. The inside is cramped but reasonably clean, and the outside patio area is comfortable even on rainy or hot days. Even the service is uncommonly professional for this type of establishment. My favorite sandwich on the menu is the Le Fig, but everything I have tried has been delicious and flavored in a surprisingly delicate way for a sandwich shop.

Came here after having a mediocre lunch at Jimmy's, to have dessert, hoping to finish my lunch on a high note. Oh man what a high note!!!! First let me tell you, I used to come to this spot when it was Pancho Villa (a mexican restaurant) under different ownership, and I must say I love what they had done with the place. It shows that the new owners know what they are doing. The outside area with the fans and mist machines are great. The inside decor is pretty cool and the service is great. I had the Guava and cream cheese bread pudding. Boy oh boy!!! The bread pudding was so moist and sweet and all the good things you can say about bread pudding and it came with a Caramel sauce that seemed infuse with liquor. I might be wrong on this but one thing I'm right about, the bread pudding was awesome.

Not sure why I am so off from the other reviews on this one. Truly nothing special going on here. I thought the service was downright rude at times when I asked questions. You can get a much better sandwich at Publix but I'm sure not many want to hear that. Also felt they were a little overpriced for what we got. Maybe I had too high of hopes but this is a long way from being a must eat.

Now, I have hit this place for lunch... and it's good. I mean the prices are more than fair and the food - yes sandwiches are just perfect. I never thought I would like a toasted version of capri salad sandwich, but their version is fantastic! I am now working my way through the menu (their version of a cuban is not too shabby). Very impressed, and this place can get busy at lunch, but they have a system to move through the line.

Just stumbled across this flavorful gem; and I'm so glad I did. The portions are generous; the staff courteous and the food delectable. My guess is that the reason they can afford such low prices on food made with such incredible ingredients is because of the location, but don't let the address scare you away from one of the best lunch specials I have found in North Miami.

  • Jessica A.

I have lunch here at least twice a week. This place has never disappointed. The sandwiches and soups are flavorful and consistently of good quality. Getting a cafe con leche (so good!) and chocolate croissant has become my guilty pleasure. I also love the ambiance on the patio. The staff is friendly.

  • P T.

Quickly becoming a regular here, I don't know why it took me so long! Huge salads of really fresh flavorful ingredients, delicious sandwiches and burgers, and the French fries are not to be missed! Breakfast time has me popping in to grab some delicious croissants. The ambiance isn't great, but that said I'm keeping them at 5 stars because everything that went into this space before looks like a hot mess in comparison. They did a great job making a comfortable outdoor space on a busy corner.

Cute little place. I've only had the butter croissants, but OMG, what a treat! Made my "cheat day" a much more enjoyable experience. Next time, I'm going to actually have a whole meal, though. I'm absolutely DYING to try their sandwiches... oh, and their chocolate and almond croissants as well!

This place GETS it.! From the quality and deliciousness of the food, to the ultra efficient and friendly customer service. The sandwiches, soups, and salads are fresh and amazing. You must try this out of the box sandwich place. They also serve beer & wine~added bonus :)

I've been here twice in the past week- love it! The soup is delicious and the sandwiches are good enough to make me post on yelp. I've had the Cuban, Parisian and Melano, all of which were marvelous. The price is great and the selection is fantastic. The location is weird- I think this used to be a hotdog restaurant? And I guess that's what took me to long to actually try it out. Also the seating indoor and outdoor is actually really nice for the spot its in. Now that I know its there, I will definitely return!

  • Sanga C.

YO! This is the by far the best sandwich shop in Miami. I love to eat and i love to eat good food even more! The prices are a little bit higher than average (No $5 footlongs) But it is definitely worth it. My favs are the Cajun, the American, and The Marinero. But thats just sandwiches, they have menu full of other delicious items just waiting to be ejoyed.

"Cane A Sucre" The Gourmet Sandwich Bar" as is on the marquis and on the building's roof. What makes this place great is that it's direct and to the point with concept and menu. The Chef actually has had other restaurants with a large variety of items. When he decided to open this one, his focus was to deliver "Sandwiches" for his niche clientele that are food savvy with a need for a good quicky during there lunch break or even a fast breakfast croissant on the way to work . This place is great for not just a sandwich on the run but it has air for a great lunch date, an informal business meeting, an afternoon end of the day glass of wine with a healthy salad or even an early bird dinner. Cane A Sucre as a brand is for a certain culture of clients that want informal yet not deviate from a standard of quality they are accustomed too. Its home-style euro cafe feel is what makes it comforting and chill.

You know the day after thanksgiving when you're making delicious leftover roast turkey, ham, or pork sandwiches? Well that's what these sandwiches remind me of. Home. Love the fresh warm bread and salads. I've been there for breakfast a couple of times, and my only complaint would be that they should serve those breakfast sandwiches a little later on Saturdays to enjoy them the days I don't wake up early. Oh and I don't mind the mist or the name of the sandwiches, who cares, they rock!

What a great little place for a light lunch. Fresh food and tasty. Reasonably priced. A half sandwich was enough for me.

Felt like I was in France even though I've never been there. Finally, a good sandwich--not too thick, not too thin--with good bread. The boiled egg in the side salad was a nice surprise. I 'll be back real soon!

Woohoo! Finally something good has moved in to this little North Miami location. I have tried their daily soups, a burger and their vegetarian hot sandwich on a whole wheat baguette and have loved every one. Ingredients are a good quality and fresh-you can really taste the difference between this place and chain sandwich shops around. You can't beat their daily lunch special for $6.50-gets you a half sandwich and a good portion of soup plus pieces of yummy baguette for dipping! They also have salads, desserts, breakfast sandwiches and coffees which I unfortunately have not yet tried since they are fairly new. Please stay for me Cane A' Sucre, I love you so!

As I drove by, it completely caught my eye. I could do a sandwich I thought. And I am so glad I stopped. The place was fun of lunch crowders yet the staff was fun and helpful. I had the brocoli soup and the veggie panini. Good stuff all around. The soup was vegetarian and not overly creamy. The sandwich was super flavorful and a good size. I also had an almond croissant to go. It didn't go very far I have to admit. Great little spot.

I go to school at Barry University and the cafeteria food just wouldn't do it. I searched and found this little spot. I can't complain about anything in this spot because its much better than anything i can find by school. The salads, burgers, and sandwiches are all AMAZINGG!! My favorite is the tuna salad sandwich with an order of there french fries which are delicious. Its really small and gets packed quickly but they do have a sitting area outside with fans to cool you down. All the employees are extremely polite and helpful.

Love this little cafe. Really nice covered patio off the street, service is great. Quick, organic, delicious. Sandwiches are just like those you'd eat in Paris or Rome. Amazing baguettes; whole wheat or white. Super cheap & a fantastic value. Small house salad was a nice surprise. Good portion of lettuce, tomato slices, hard boiled egg, pesto & balsamic. Enjoyed the Fig sandwich; walnuts, honey, Gorgonzola, figs - heaven. I'll definitely be back, often.

I go here often because it's close to my house. Their sandwiches are really good. I wasn't going to leave a review until I tried the Le Cajun. It is the best tilapia sandwich I've ever had! You haven't lived until you try it! The soups are usually good too- cream of mushroom, squash, potato, etc. yummy :)

Awesome sandwiches on baguette, amazing soups and more. Fast, cheap and delicious. The service is excellent, with friendly greeter, cashiers, and servers. The owners are there to make you feel welcome and appreciated. Very casual, comfortable seating. I will be there every week!

The food was good, but a bit over-priced for the serving size provided. I ordered a cuban, fries and 2 soda cans and my bill was almost $20. It was very clean and inviting and the service was quick!
